A Day in Our Kindy and Preschool Room (3–5 Years)

Our Kindy and Preschool Room at Landsdale Early Learning and Enrichment is designed for our confident, growing learners aged 3 to 5 years. Everything we do in this room is built around a structured yet fun routine; one that nurtures independence, builds friendships, and gets children truly ready for school.

Here's a look at what a typical day in our Kindy & Preschool Room looks like.

Early Mornings (6:30 – 8:45)

The day begins with free-flow play, giving children the time and space to explore, create, and connect with their peers. It's an intentional, unhurried start that sets a positive tone for the learning ahead.

Morning Learning Block

Once the morning is underway, children move into a rich and purposeful learning block designed to build skills and confidence:

• 8:45 Group mat session (songs, discussions, and a learning focus)

• 9:00 Morning tea

• 9:30 Activity-based group time

• 9:45 - 10:30 Learning experiences (individual & group)

  
  

These structured yet engaging activities lay the foundation for school readiness in a way that still feels exciting and fun for children.

Lunch (11:00)

A nourishing midday meal to refuel growing minds and bodies.

Rest & Quiet Time (11:30 – 1:30)

After a busy morning of learning, children rest or engage in quiet activities to recharge. This dedicated wind-down time supports emotional regulation and overall wellbeing.

Afternoon Tea (2:00)

A healthy afternoon snack to re-energise children for the afternoon ahead.

Active Afternoons (2:00 – 4:30)

Indoor or outdoor play takes centre stage, with activities that encourage movement, creativity, and teamwork. Whether it's imaginative play, collaborative building, or games outside, children are engaged, active, and having fun.

Home Time (from 4:30)

As the day wraps up, children help pack away, enjoy a late snack, and gently transition into mixed-age spaces before heading home. It's a calm, familiar routine that helps children feel settled and ready for pick-up.
