At Landsdale Early Learning and Enrichment, we are committed to keeping our families informed about important updates in early childhood education. One of the most exciting announcements from the Australian Government is the 3-Day Childcare Subsidy Guarantee, launching on 5 January 2026.

This change is a major step forward in making early learning more accessible and affordable for families across Australia — including our own Landsdale community.

🎉 What Is the 3-Day Guarantee?

The 3-Day Childcare Subsidy Guarantee is a new government initiative that ensures all eligible families will have access to at least 3 days of subsidised childcare per week – that’s 72 hours per fortnight.

And the best part? These 3 days will be subsidised regardless of how many hours you work, study, or volunteer. That means the current activity test will not apply for the guaranteed 72 hours.

This is especially great news for:

• Families working part-time, casually, or flexibly

• Parents returning to work or study

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Do I still need to meet the activity test to get CCS?

Not for the first 72 hours (3 days) per fortnight. The activity test will no longer apply for that portion from 5 January 2026. If you’re eligible for more than 72 hours, the activity test will still apply for the additional hours.

2. What if I already get 5 days of subsidised care?

You will continue to receive your current level of subsidy if you meet eligibility requirements. The 3-day guarantee simply sets a minimum — it does not reduce your current entitlements.

3. Will my out-of-pocket fees change?

They could! If you were previously receiving little or no CCS due to not meeting the activity test, you may now receive subsidy for up to 3 days. Please speak with our team for a personalised breakdown of your fees.

4. Will this apply automatically, or do I need to apply?

If you’re already receiving CCS, this will automatically apply in 2026. Just make sure your details are up to date on MyGov.

5. What about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children?

Children from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds will automatically receive 100 hours of subsidised care per fortnight, regardless of family activity levels.
